I am confused of why only HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 is the only device that my gaming laptop can be charged through USB type C. Or is that taken out of context? Because why have a gaming laptop being limited to a certain device and not have it being a universal charge, just in case if the main barrel plug or power brick is damaged? Because that can make a laptop nearly useless without a way to charge and or wall power the laptop. Also can I be able to use E GPU with the Thunderbolt Dock G2?

Sorry for making a double question, I had never known about the HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 until a few days ago.

The specs of your machine is

and the dock

              https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05913756

Your machine is not compatible with the dock. One more thing: the dock only has  (1) USB-C DisplayPort data and power out port (15 W)  (back) and (1) USB-C port with data and power out (15 W) (front). Your machine requires 135W charger.

Let me tell you an example : just say battery is a 10L bucket, it has a hole which will drain water of full bucket in 5 hours. Now you pour water in 1L each hour. You can work out why the charger can't charge battery on your machine when machine is running. It may charge your machine when machine is off.

Regards.

Screenshot (19).pngIn this screencap, it had shown the HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 firmware installer. So I am guessing that it was there by mistake? And from what I have heard, is that laptops like mine had way too much volt going to the CPU and GPU. I would've been happier if there's a way to make an effective cooling while gaming, without the weird way to cool the laptop and force the laptop getting hotter. Because I had used (turn on) HP Coolsense 2.2 (even the one that was pre installed), while gaming and the force downclock, which it somehow backfires the attempt to cool by making the laptop much hotter.
