Will a Gen 4 SSD be able to perform at or near its published ratings for my HP Spectre?

If you need to replace the drive, you may as well purchase a Gen 4.0 NVMe SSD because they will most likely be easier to find and probably cost less than a Gen 3.0 SSD.

Since your notebook's PCIe slot is Gen 3.0, the maximum read/write speeds the slot can support would be 4,000 MBPS.

Apologies for posting in the PC community.  I tried multiple times to post in the Notebook Hardware Upgrade Community but kept getting error to choose a community, even though I had.  My question is specifically for a HP Spectre x360 Convertible 14t-ea000CTO.  Thanks for your indulgence.

Thanks again, Paul.  Was hoping that perhaps different spectre x360s might have different mother boards.  Take care.
