I've heard HP claimed to stop using whitelists. However, my newest BIOS (07.2019) still shows the message like "DDR3 RAM is incompatible with your device. Continue to boot or power off?"

Of course, the RAM has the same specs as the stock one. The only difference that Hynix isn't whitelisted.

Is there a legal way (without flashing custom BIOS) to remove these messages as they slow down the booting process?

It ain't a whitelist it's trying to put 1.5 volt memory into a 1.35 volt system. Not sure who assured you but the label of the memory says PC3-12800S which means it is 1.5 volt memory. No "L".

Hi,

What is the Hynix memory? Is it DDR3L RAM, not DDR3 RAM?

Let me know,

David

I've been assured that DDR3L. However, now i'm not sure: HMT451S6MFR8C-PB, is it "L"?

The RAM is DDR3 RAM, not DDR3L.

DDR3 runs at 1.5V and DDR3L runs at 1.35V, so that is why you are seeing the error. You should replace the module with a DDR3L module.

Hope it helps,

David

**Okay, my bad.

Is it guaranteed that when I install any brand new DDR3L 1600MHz SODIMM it'll work as good as a stock one?

Excuse me, I'm new to this forum. So will it work without any errors or I need to search for whitelisted Crucial?

Read your question:

Seriously? I would not recommend buying some sketchy no name memory.

And BTW there is no memory whitelist. Never has been. HP whitelist was only on wifi cards until sometime in 2013.

These are recommended modules:

Memory modules (PC3L-12800, 1600-MHz, DDR3L) 8-GB 693374-001 4-GB 691740-001

This is Micron, a good OEM brand (parent company of Crucial) and this would work in your laptop:

Well I mean Hynix, Kingston, HyperX, Crucial and so on.

Are there any unexpensive but reliable brand names this may be guaranteed? 🙂

Oh, no lists... Great, nice to aknowledge this and sorry for my bad former opinion.
