My HP EliteBook 8540w Mobile Workstation - Dual Core (ENERGY STAR) has a Quadro FX 1800M graphics card with Driver Version 342.01. The computer (a laptop) is running Windows 10 Professional and “Blue Screens” a lot due to the graphics card.
Sadly, none of the newer HP laptops have the features and functionality that my 8540w does. Hence, I am still using it with some difficulty.
Question: Does anyone have any experience with replacing the Quadro FX 1800M graphics card in an 8540w laptop with a newer NVIDIA graphics card that might resolve my problem? I am concerned about compatibility issues including extra power requirements of a newer graphics card. From what I can tell, NVIDIA does not have any drivers that will resolve the Quadro FX 1800M problem.
