Suddenly my greater than and less than symbols won't work. They work if I hold down the alt button and then press 60 or 62. but that is the only way I can get them to work. I can't find anything on the internet about how to fix this issue. I did notice earlier (I can't exactly remember what) I was unintentionally using keyboard shortcuts. My page kept going back to the previous page when I was trying to type into the browser. What could be doing this? Did I accidentally change the setup of my keyboard somehow? Thanks in advance for your help. 🙂

I reviewed your post and I understand that the greater than and less than symbols are not working on the computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What is the keyboard layout you are using?

Does this happen only in any particular application?

Meanwhile, I recommend you make sure you have selected the right keyboard layout.

Here is how it is done.

  1. Click Start and then click the Settings icon (which is shaped like a gear).
  2. Click "Time & Language."
  3. In the navigation pane on the left, click "Language."
  4. In the "Preferred languages section," click your language (i.e., "English") and then click "Options."

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi.  Thanks for your response.  I rebooted my laptop & it fixed itself.  I'm not sure what went wrong,  but thankfully it's better.  😉
