HP ProBook 6570b Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)

Apologies for a post regarding my old setup (ProBook 6570B) but Im lost on which HD+ cable should I get as when I was browsing through the internet to find it, It seems that there are some legit and not so true kind of cable. I am planning to upgrade my ProBook screen to FHD but I'm lost on which should I get on both the cable and screen. if someone who has an idea or advice it is greatly appreciated. Provide links if possible for other future users reference. Cheers.

Its specs

which does NOT say its ports. But from manual (page 😎 it has following ports for video out

  • DisplayPort 1.2 (on computer models equipped with a graphics subsystem with discrete memory) or
  • DisplayPort 1.1a (on computer models equipped with a graphics subsystem with UMA memory)
  • VGA (Dsub 15 pin) supporting: 1920×1200 external resolution @75 Hz, hot plug and unplug and auto detection for correct output to wide-aspect vs. standard aspect video

Therefore you can use

  • (a) Direct DP cable from DP port (computer) to DP port (on monitor) or DP to HDMI cable
  • (b) Direct VGA cable from VGA port (computer) to VGA port (on monitor) - no middle man

You can use both ports at the same time (for 2 external monitors) and remember no middle man (ie adapter)

Regards.

@Banhien

Thanks for the reply.

My apologies as I was not clear on my post earlier. I am currently using an external monitor with my laptop as the internal monitor is starting to act up. I was asking if Im changing my laptop screen, Im upgrading it to 1600 x 900 3rd party screen replacement. But after reading a few turotials online it was highlighted that I also need to change my LCD cable connecting from the motherboad to the LCD screen. This is where Im stuck as I cant seem to find the correct part numbers for the HD+ cable and 1600x900 screen replacement (or 1920x1080 screen if there's one that exist).

My 6570b screen is flickering every now and then and some pink banding near the hinges. I love this laptop and I see I can put mor life into it if I can upgrade/change the screen. I would be willing to spend x aamount to change it but want to get the better display than maintaining it on 1366x768 screen resolution.

Thanks again for any future reply.
