DATA HARD DISK 492620-B21

Hi Mr or Ms Help@HP,

I bought (on Amazon) 2 DATA HARD DISK 492620-B21 but the products delivered don't show any mention of this reference.

It reads a lot of NUMBERS and Serial Numbers like:

EG0300FAWHV

HP P/N 507119-004

PART NUMBER 9FK066-085

GPN 507129-003

SN (removed content)

Can you tell me if the items received are equivalent to the one ordered?

Thank you for your cooperation,

Best regards,

DOMJED

This is a little outside the scope of the Notebooks Forum, but I see both part numbers 492620-B21 and 507119-004 are 300 gig SAS (SCSI) hard drives for enterprise type server computers. It appears the one you got is a faster SCSI variant than the one you ordered and I suspect they ran out of the old ones and filled your order with newer hardware.

Did you also get the caddy with them or just the bare drives? The ones you got should be compatible with the computer that uses the one you ordered, but if the answer is whether they are the same thing that answer is No.

Hi ,

Thanks a lot for your prompt answer.

Sorry for misplacing the post.

We didn't get the caddy with the HDD. We're using HP 391835-B21 server.

Hope the one received can do the job as the old one, despite the difference in speed...

Thanks again for your help.

As long as it fits in the caddy (it should) the ones you got are actually faster but will likely run at the same speed as the old ones.  Post back if you have any problems with them.

OK. Thanks for the advice.

I will give feed back on the subject once the technicians would have tried it.
