Without warning, my HDD crashed a few days ago. The computer wont boot at all. I need to change the HDD but want to switch from my ATA Toshiba 1TB 5400 RPM 2.5" HDD to a SATA Seagate BarraCuda 1TB 7200 RPM 2.5" HDD.
Is it as easy as just swapping out the ATA for the SATA?

The laptop uses SATA hard drives. True ATA/EIDE/PATA laptop hard drives have not been used in at least 10 years so yes it is that simple. You will see that the old and new drives have identical connector interfaces.
