I tried replacing the factory 1TB HDD with a new 256gb SSD and installed windows using a bootable drive.
The laptop first booted up and then cashed a few minutes in with an error - ”boot device not found”.
I thought the drive was faulty and exchanged it but still experiencing the same issue.
I reinstalled the old HDD, wiped it, reinstalled windows, updated all the drivers and then tried to install the SSD but no luck. Windows installs but doesn’t even make it to the desktop.
Please help. SSD installed: Hikvision E100

The only suggestion I can offer would be to temporarily disconnect the 2.5" drive and use the HP cloud recovery tool on another PC to create a bootable USB recovery drive.
The HP image will have all of the necessary drivers included.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility.
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Customer Support
You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

Since you will have to use the utility on another PC, you will need to enter the PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.
Your PC's product number is 6B8V0EA#ACQ

So I used the HP Recovery tool to create a bootable drive and followed the steps.
Everything seemed fine and I managed to get to the desktop and run further updates but the following morning it would boot up and go to the desktop but then crash and blue screen with the same error.
