Envy 17 j102tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I own an HP envy 17 inch laptop j102tx.  This laptop has a 2nd bay for a dedicated 2.5 inch HDD/SDD.  know whether i can use the sata connector However, the sata connector **bleep** cable is too expensive for me to afford at this point in time.  Since my friend is disposing of his HP envy 15 j105tx laptop for peanuts , i would like to use the sata connector cable of that 15 inch laptop for my 2nd sdd and fit that successfully in my envy 17 laptop considering that both are in the same series.

The original part no of the sata connector-cable for my 17 inch laptop is 720237-001

Any hints on what i can do for the surroin casing that get sthe HDD sitting sungly and tightly in the bay?

Tahnks for any help on this!

Please check the following list

That part won't be compatible with HP 15" machines therefore we can say other way: parts on HP 15" machines would not fit perfectly on HP 17" machines.

Regards.
