OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-ae0000 (9J127AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, I have this gaming laptop. I only use it for working not gaming. I have two external monitors hooked up. once to the HDMI port and 1 to the USBC c port. last night I went to bed everything was working fine and today I wake up and my monitor with the HDMI port will not work. I tried all the tricks and suggestions and nothing has worked. Its not the monitor. I think its the actual PORT where you place the plug that is faulty but how can that just all of a sudden be bad overnight? my computer is only 4 months old. I a am very frustrated. they want me to ship it to HP to fix for 6 days and I need my computer to work and have no other lap top. any other suggestions how to get this to work.

Hi @Karenalex321,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you have trouble using the HDMI port on the OMEN 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-ae0000 (9J127AV), where the HDMI has stopped working since yesterday. Sorry to hear about the trouble.

Before we dive into advanced steps, please make sure we try connecting a different HDMI cable if you have one.

Please remove all 3rd party devices connected to the Pc except the charger and try a BIOS Restore, and let me know if this helps.

BIOS Restore :
1) Shut down the computer, keep the  charger plugged in
2) Hold down the Windows and B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.
3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.
4) Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
