See 'heat sink' on page 17 that says system boards with 15W processors need to use heat sink (#L64890-001).

 

All Ryzen processors and your Athlon 3050U have TDP of 15W so if you use a new system board with a Ryzen from the list, you don't need to change the heat sink.

 

As long as you pick a new board from the list, it's supposed to fit in the chassis and work, but is it 100% guaranteed to work? I can't say yes.

 

If I was you, I wouldn't spend any money to replace the motherboard in an older model. I would just feel satisfied with such upgrade from the 64 GB eMMC drive to the 512 GB M.2 SATA SSD which now is the boot drive. That's just my personal opinion, and you can do what you want to do.

Well tysm for all of this, I really hope I didn't waste your time or anything with unmeaningful questions or anything. But I think I'm gonna get that Ryzen 7 board, as I would like to game on this thing. So thank you very much for your time!!
