Hi @Laggamer20xx,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
Oh no, that sounds incredibly frustrating! Using a knockoff charger can sometimes cause serious power issues, including not charging correctly or even damaging the laptop’s internal components. Let’s try to troubleshoot and see if we can get your Victus by HP laptop up and running again:
Steps to Try When the Laptop Won't Power On:
Disconnect Everything and Power Drain:
- Unplug the charger and remove any connected devices (USBs, external drives, etc.).
- Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds to drain any residual power.
Check for Charger and Port Issues:
- Inspect the charging port on your laptop and the charger plug for any visible damage, bent pins, or debris.
- Try using a known good charger that is compatible with your laptop (preferably an original HP charger).
Check Charger LED Indicators:
- If your laptop or charger has an LED indicator, check if it lights up when plugged in. If not, there might be an issue with the charger or the laptop's charging circuit.
Remove the Battery (if removable):
- If your laptop has a removable battery, take it out, plug in the charger without the battery, and try powering it on.
- If it powers on without the battery, the battery might be damaged and need replacement.
Hard Reset (for non-removable battery):
- For laptops with a non-removable battery, you can attempt a hard reset:
- Unplug the charger.
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Plug the charger back in and try to power it on.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @Laggamer20xx,
Please find the remaining steps below.
Inspect for Power or Battery Indicators:
- Look for any signs of life, like blinking LEDs, fan noise, or screen flickers.
- If you hear clicking sounds or see error codes (blinking lights), note them as they can indicate specific hardware issues.
Try a Different Power Outlet:
- Ensure the power outlet you’re using works by testing it with another device.
Note: Using unofficial chargers can sometimes cause significant damage to your laptop's power system, motherboard, or battery. If you get it working again, consider investing in an official HP charger to avoid similar problems in the future.
I know this situation is stressful, but try the steps calmly, and hopefully, we can bring your Victus back to life!😊
If none of the above steps work, you might need to contact phone support, as the knockoff charger may have caused internal damage.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
