Hello guys, I have the HP Probook 640 G2- 14' - Core i5 6200U - 8GB RAM. It currently uses SANDISK M.2 SATA 2280 SSD. Is this laptop NVMe compatible, or do I have to buy a SATA SSD?

Some sites say it is and it isn't NVMe compatible so I am confused.

Go the HP Site, and use your serial number to identify the correct model to determine if your model has the M.2 SSD option available.

Hi,

It is compatible with M2 PCIe NVMe. I would go with the SM951 or PM961 as the newer 970 evo have sometimes given some compatibility issues.

Service manual page 41:

Hope it helps,
