HELP...cpu upgrade

i replace my b820 with 2020m..but with 2020m i get black screen ..the pc i running and the caps lock i blinking 3 times and pause and again 3 times..ect... no sound...f12 is orange...when i put back b820 everything is normal...bios insyde f.39...should i upgrade bios or something else to do...i tried to reset the pc but no luck....the latest bios for my pc is f.39

2020M is a Pentium CPU but not compatible with this machine...not listed in the Service manual. The Celeron B820 and 2020M are similar processors with the same socket but the 2020M is a newer lithography 22nm and the motherboard just is not set up for it. Sorry. Pentium B970 is your highest and best for that motherboard.

thank u 4 your time to explane to me some things...because on web i read defferent stuff about what cpu will work...now i know 2020m wont...maybe next time i will try b960 or b970...again thank u

hello again sir...what about b980...i am thinking between b950 or b980..is any noticeable speed in real life or only numbers on papers..

Is B980 listed in the Manual? Get one that is listed in the Manual. Another one might work but you can be pretty sure if its listed in the Manual it will work.

i see now any cpu in the manual is tested and will work...so b970 will be...but i am not understanding why b970 will work and b980 will not...but that's science...thank u again

i upgraded b820 with b960...my pc is working little bit faster but not huge difference...tnx to Huffer for helping me....
