Hi, I have a laptop with a 1TB HDD hard drive (model wdc wd10jpvx-60jc3t0) and 8GB RAM.
1. I want to replace the hard drive with an SSD, but the problem is that I do not know which one to choose, namely SATA, SATA 2 or SATA 3. Since I do not understand which of them is suitable
2. I want to increase the RAM, I know that one slot is 8GB 2133 MHz. The question is can I add 16 GB of the same frequency to another slot or does the motherboard only hold 16 GB of RAM in total

Hi:
The product specs for your notebook indicate that it comes with 12 GB of memory, a 1 TB hard drive and a 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD.
HP Pavilion - 14-al110tx Product Specifications | HP® Support
If you want to replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD, you want a 2.5" SATA 3 SSD, because that is the speed of your notebook's hard drive controller.
Your notebook supports 2 x 8 GB of memory, so you can remove the 4 GB memory chip and install an 8 GB memory chip.
I'd get a DDR4-2400 MHz 8 GB memory chip because they may be easier to find.

If you are referring to replacing the 4 GB memory chip, this would be the one I recommend since the manufacturer indicates that it is compatible with your notebook:

Get a WD Blue SA510 2.5" drive.
Comes with a 5-year warranty.
