@Maestro0070, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the HID Sensor (Human Interface Device Sensor), such as the accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, or rotation sensor, is not working on your HP Pavilion x360 14-ek0018ci running Windows 11, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Device Manager for HID Sensor Issues

Press Win + X → click Device Manager.

Expand:

  • Sensors or
  • Human Interface Devices

Look for entries like:

  • HID Sensor Collection
  • Inclinometer, Accelerometer, or Kionix/Invensense devices.

If there's a yellow triangle, right-click and select Update DriverSearch automatically.

Enable Sensor Monitoring Service

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, press Enter.
  • Look for:
    Sensor Monitoring Service
    Sensor Service
  • If disabled, right-click → Properties → set Startup type to Automatic, then click Start.

Reinstall HID Sensor Drivers

  • Go to Device Manager, right-click the faulty sensor (or HID Sensor Collection) → Uninstall device.
  • Restart your PC. Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers.

Install HP Support Assistant

  • Download from: HP Support Assistant
  • Run it → Go to Updates tab → Install all available updates (especially drivers and BIOS/firmware updates).

Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to SettingsWindows UpdateCheck for updates.
  • Install optional updates, especially under “Driver updates”.

HP Drivers Page (Manual Driver Reinstallation)

Check Rotation Lock (if rotation isn’t working)

  • Go to SettingsSystemDisplay.
  • If “Rotation lock” is greyed out:
Make sure the device is in tablet mode (folded).
  • Sensor might still be misconfigured or missing driver.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
