HP 14-DQ1040WM upgrade

I'd like to know if the HP 14-DQ1040WM can be upgraded (more ram, bigger SSD). The laptop shipped with an Intel Core i5, 8GB of SODIMM RAM, and a 256GB SSD. I checked on Crucial's website and it said it can accept up to 32 GB of  SODIMM RAM. I wanted to make sure if it could be upgraded before I bought the parts.

Yes you can install up to 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz RAM (2x16GB) even if service manual mentions 16GB

There are two slots and at the moment you have one 8GB module. So you could add another 8GB which should be enough in everyday use.

On page 30 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM

You can upgrade the M2 SSD to a higher capacity (no limit) M2 PCIe NVMe SSD. Something like the Samsung 970 Evo Plus would be considered the best. You can then reinstall the OS on the new SSD.

Although I didn't ask the question, your response was what I needed to know.

I also have the same computer with the i51035g7, can I put a 16GB DDR4 2666 on top of the 8GB already installed?

Also, I see it seems to have space for an SSD but I'm not sure.
