HP 14-ac100na
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
Hi,

I purchased the HP 14-ac100na for £100 on ebay and it came with windows 10 64 bit pre installed with 2gb of RAM and 32gb SSD which I presume it is soldered in. I found out they is no warranty for this laptop.

I have now currently have Windows Embedded 8.1 industry pro installed to improve performance over Windows 10.

I managed to get OS and wi-fi driver to get installed due to the help from the HP Community. This question is now about whether I can install 8gb of RAM and can the 32gb emc drive be removed and get replaced by an ssd via a sata connection.

Thanks,
Nandan

Hi,

Page 37: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04644008

You can add in 2.5 inch SATA HDD/SSD and boot from it.

You need : Hard Drive Hardware Kit (includes bracket and cable) : 813510-001 for adding in 2.5 SATA SSD into the bay

You cannot upgrade RAM as your notebook came with Celeron processor and memory module is on board. Page 2.

Hi,

You said the memory cannot be upgraded so why does the crucial memory website show 8gb can be supported?

Here is the link to the page: http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/hp-14-acxxxx-%28intel-single-sodimm%29

Thanks,

Manual says so, for Celeron machines.

If they gaurantee their compatible upgrade, you can try Crucial
