HP 14-bw0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Please help! I’ve had this laptop for about a year and hardly have used it because of frustration. I have one application installed taking up very little memory. I’m trying to do the recent update to this virtually new computer but I’m not able to due to “lack of disc space”. I need something like 8 gig free when I have 24.9 of 29.1 gig full of space almost all from

initial processing stuff on it.  I am beyond frustrated with this please help ASAP.

Hi

First off move everything you can onto an encrypted usb stick and/or up into the cloud.

Windows : Administrative Tools : Disk Cleanup

If in doubt please ask.

Hi, @frostfox

The only way you will ever be able to get any usable free space would be to delete all partitions on the hard drive, leaving only one large partition and clean install W10.

How can I do that? I have no idea where to even begin. Don’t know much about computers.

See if the info I posted in a similar discussion is of any help to you.

Check the link I posted inside this discussion for how to create the W10 installation media.

That's the best I can do.

If it doesn't help, see if a friend that has an intermediate or higher knowledge of installing operating systems can help you.

Those notebooks with 32 GB hard drives are useless unless you know how to get the most space you can from the hard drive.

Hi

STEP 1 Would be to move as much as possible off the existing 'disk'.

STEP 2 Would be the clean-up.

Step 3 Would be to post back any increase in available space.

Step 4 To follow....
