I want to upgrade my p

laptop but i do not know how much processors does it support , the motherboard of my laptop is hp 1405 .

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook:

 

Chapter 1 has the list of supported processors.

Different system boards are used in the models with the Intel quad core processors, so you are limited to installing one of the dual core processors listed in the manual, the best one being the Intel Dual Core i5-580M.

 

If you wanted to experiment, you could probably install an Intel Dual Core i7-620M.
