HP 15-AF105NL
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Would it be possible to upgrade a HP 15-AF105NL notebook with a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB Sata III SSD 2.5''?

Like the one here: https://www.amazon.it/Samsung-MZ-75E500B-EU-SATA-Grigio/dp/B00P73B1E4/

If I understand correctly there is only space for one drive, so I would have to take out the current 1TB hard drive to put this in?

Hi,

Yes it is possible to install the SSD which will greatly improve everyday performance of your PC. On page 40 of service manual you can see the steps to replace the drive.

You can also take a look at these HP videos which can help with upgrade (click on hard disk drive in list on left)

You will need to reinstall the OS. I would download the media creation tool from Microsoft (before replacing drive) run and create a bootable pendrive with Windows 10 on it.

Windows 10 will automatically activate once installed and connected to internet as long as you install the same version (home or pro) that was already on PC.

Hope it helps,

David

Thank you for the reply but I am not concerned about the software but instead about making sure the hardware is fully compatible before purchasing it
