HP Notebook - 15-ay503tx

Hello All,

I have an HP Notebook 15-ay503tx and replaced the primary 1TB HDD with a 250GB SSD. I also replaced my DVD writer with an HDD caddy and added my primary 1TB HDD into it. Hence, my laptop's current configuration is a 250GB SSD as primary and a 1TB HDD as secondary with a caddy.

Now, I want to replace my secondary storage with an SSD. Please help me understand which SSD is supported on my device and its storage limit. As discussed with HP support personnel, my primary SSD supports only up to 250GB, and I am currently using a Samsung SSD 860 EVO 250GB. However, the HP support executive was unsure about the secondary SSD capacity. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Regards,

Kiran Maji

Since you already have the drive caddy in place, most any SATA 2.5" SSD should work, as it will replace the HDD that is presently installed.  Depending on what you are using for the boot drive, up to 2TB on the new SSD if it is the boot drive.
