Hello, my heatsink for HP 15-db1076nt doesn't work properly so I want to change it. But I couldn't find the exact model so my question is can I use a different heatsink for my laptop is there any compatible heatsink?

So the part was a complete fit but there was one little problem. The screw locations on the graphic card part was a little bit out of place so we bend them a little bit and used screws with big heads to make it tight. In the end we didn't change anything from the computer and didn't damage the heatsink. Now my heating problem is completely gone!

@ozzaw,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

[EDIT: see next post, please] Your HP Notebook - 15-db1076nt (9FH05EA) according to: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c08289069.pdf, requires this model heatsink: "For use in models with an Intel Core or Pentium Gold 4417U or 5405U processor" with HP p/n: L63586-001:

You can get a quality heatsink replacement for less than $12 via eBay: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=hp+L63586-001&_sacat=0&LH....

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

@ozzaw,

Upon closer scrutiny, the manual -or myself, got it wrong: you either want to buy this heatsink/CPU cooling fan combo:  L20474-001 L20470-001 GENUINE HP FAN AND HEATSINK 15-DA 15-DA1005DX (A)(CC210) | eBay, or the heatsink HP p/n: L20470-001, such as this purchase example: HP 15-da0014dx 15.6" Genuine CPU Cooling Heatsink L20470-001 AT29M0030R0 | eBay.

Hi first of all thank you for trying to help! The thing is I can find the models you send me here too but there is a problem. As you can see my heatsink has a second iron plate on the middle which is for 2nd graphic card, the models you send me is for only one graphic cards models.

@ozzaw,

Yea, I see that...

There's a label on the heatsink with two lines of information.

Please provide it or a closeup picture will do.

@ozzaw,

Excellent job finding the right part!  -Sometimes that is challenging, all right.

Not just 'almost', it is for all intents and purposes a mirror copy -and pretty inexpensive too ($13.70):

So, yes, go for it!

@ozzaw,

Thank you for following up!

I am happy this worked out well for you.

Yes, sometimes a so-called after-market product may deviate from the OEM/original part specs, and a modification may be necessary.
