Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

from several weeks my HP - 15-Da0075nl not charge the battery when is connected to the AC adapter end is on (led on white).

The notebook charge only if the AC adapter is connected and the notebook is OFF or in Stand-By (led orange till full charge).

I can not identify any sw update related to the beginning of the problem.

No errors from HP Support Assistant who simply not see the adapter

I tried with different AC adapter and nothing change

I tried to reset (power on butto for more than 20sec) and nothing change

I have updated the BIOS and nothing change

I have reinstalled the Microsoft ACMI driver and nothing change

I have recalibrated the battery and nothing change

Do Tou have any suggestion?

Best Regards

Claudio

@Claudio_Iy & @Soltyst211 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the laptop battery will not charge while powered on.

As you have stated that you have already tried troubleshooting steps.

Please perform the battery test and let us know the result.

1. Power off the PC and make sure that it is completely powered off.

2. Press the power button and the moment you press the power button immediately start tapping F2 key, you should see the system diagnostics screen.

3. Look for the component test, under that all the hardware will be listed, please choose Battery and initiate the quick test.

Note: If it fails it will generate a 24 digits alphanumeric failure id, please capture that.

Thank you for the update.

In that case, I would suggest you perform the system reset.

Windows 10 has a reset feature that repairs your computer by reinstalling the operating system. This feature is recommended for recovery because it reinstalls Windows 10 while either preserving your personal data and customizations or removing all your personal data.

You have a choice of two methods to reset your computer.

  • If Windows 10 loads correctly, see the section titled Perform a Windows 10 system reset in Windows in this document.

  • If Windows 10 does not start correctly, see the section titled Perform a Windows 10 system reset through Windows Recovery Environment in this document.

Have a nice day!!

Hello Praveen196,

The PC works perfectly with the only excepion of the battery charging problem while ON

I did the OS reset with Windows MediaCreationTool1909 befor to contact you, and nothing is changed.

Do you think that is still necessary to  "Perform a Windows 10 system reset in Windows"? Seems to me the fame reset done using different tool.

I understand your concerns.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Do not worry. Please call our phone support. They will assist you.

Please look for a private message.

Have a nice day!!
