Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have HP R203TX, which is around 5 year old. I have already increase RAM from 4 GB to now 8 GB.

Now I want to upgrade the storage capacity of laptop. It came with 1 TB 5400 RPM SATA HDD.

However i want to install SSD in it. I am looking for M.2 SATA or NVMe, but i dont know about availability of PCIe port in laptop to install it. please inform me whether i can install M.2 SSD or not? if yes which make amd model, can i use?

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

It does not have any M.2 slots to add a SSD.

If you want to install a SSD, you will need to replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.

Thank you Paul,

I came to solution, To replace optical drive with SSD by installing caddy,

Please suggest that caddy+SSD arrangement is as good as direct connection or i should arrange HDD+caddy and directly install SDD with system.

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with that.

But you should install the 2.5" SSD where the hard drive is now, and put your current mechanical hard drive in the optical drive caddy.
