Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've tried various ways to ascertain whether this model has two memory slots, but even the Service & Maintenance manual is vague.. it suggests that I should be able to add another 4Gb module, but the diagram for upgrading memory only shows the way to remove a module.

I tried asking HP before I bought it, but got no response. I checked on the crucial.com website, which suggests it has 2 slots, and a maximum of 2x8Gb (16Gb).

Why is it so difficult to verify? This should be on the model's specification page! (which only says 4Gb supplied)

(I tried the support assistant as suggested on this site, but the version on my laptop is a different version, and is useless!).

I have a 4Gb module on order, but so far, won't know if I can use it until I take the bottom cover off!

Hi,

Your PC supports max 16GB of DDR3L 1600Mhz (2x8GB).

It has two slots, so if the RAM you ordered is the right kind there will be no problem with upgrade.

Hope it helps,

David

Thanks. I ordered one 4Gb module by Crucial based on the type they listed as compatible.. DDR3L, PC3-12800, 1600.

I trust their website, but was disappointed that I could not verify the details, here.

I showed my laptop to my sister, yesterday - she likes the same one, in Teal.. but it must be 'end of line', because finding one in stock is difficult..
