My HP 15 notebook came with a non-backlit keyboard. I was wondering if I would be able to purchase a backlit keyboard and replace it myself, as the manual indicates that this model supports such keyboards, if I understood it correctly. A preliminary search hasn't yielded any results for this particular model of notebook; any help would be appreciated.

Do you have the Intel or AMD version? Actually on this model series all the motherboards WOULD have a zif connector for backlight power so all you would need to do is swap in a backlit keyboard. However, you cannot buy just the keyboard from HP. It comes packaged with the whole top cover and to get to the same result as @banhien another way, it would be an expensive upgrade and probably not easy to find the whole top cover in the right color.

Backlit keyboard alone won't work, you need a motherboard (if available) which has all connectors (ZIF connector) to supply power for lights on the keyboard.
If available, this would be a very, very, very expensive upgrade.
Regards.

Is there any way to know if this motherboard has the appropriate connectors, including but not limited to disassembly, or is it simply a matter of if the factory model didn't have a backlit keyboard, the motherboard certainly doesn't support upgrading to a backlit one?
