Hi HP community,
My HP 15 bs145tu is not starting up after installing the Samsung 970 EVO plus 250GB M.2 NVMe SSD.
This lappy has one m.2 slot so I bought the aforementioned SSD but after installing it is not starting up. And, when I remove the SSD, system is working as expected. I tried the second time and made sure that It is placed and screwed correctly.
Please suggest what could be the reason. Need expert advice, please help why it is not supporting this SSD.
Thanks,
Harsh W.

Hi:
From the information I am finding, your notebook uses a M.2 drive with a SATA controller, not NVMe.
Look at chapter 1, page 3 of the service manual.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493257
Then see the crucial memory report which lists compatible M.2 SSD's for your model (click on the view more link under the SSD section).
Here is the link to the specs for the 500 GB model they sell...

Hi Paul,
Thank you very much for the quick reply, I really appreciate the help!
Could you please advice if Samsung 860 EVO which is a M.2 SATA SSD, would work perfectly in my aforementioned lappy?
Thanks again,
Harsh W.

You're very welcome.
I cannot 100% guarantee it, but looking at the specs I have no reason to believe why it should work just fine.
The specs at the bottom of the link you posted indicated the interface is SATA III (6.0 GB/S), so that is what HP says it needs to be.
