I have the same laptop as the op. My HDD seems to be failing and my ssd is nearly full. What is best for me to replace them. The ssd is my C: drive and only has all of my windows and adobe programs on it. The hdd has all of my files, photos, videos etc, and it has plenty of room. But i am having performance issues as well, including cpu at 100% with barely anything running. I have upgraded it already to 16gb ram from the original 8. How do i know what drives to replace and what size and if i should get more ram?
Thank you,
Amy

Hi, Amy:
I recommend you replace the failing 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 1 TB 2.5" SATA SSD such as the Western Digital Blue SA510 model series.
For a replacement M.2 SSD, I'd go with the Crucial P3 500 GB:
Below is the link to the service manual:
If you want to install more memory, go with this kit:
Crucial 32GB Kit (16GBx2) DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT2K16G4SFRA32A | Crucial.com

Thank you Paul for your speedy and detailed reply! So helpful. If I make the hdd and ssd switches do I need to upgrade memory?
And do the drives come with the enclosure I'll need for cloning?
Can you direct me somewhere that will help with cloning the 128 ssd? I've done hdd before but never ssd.

You're very welcome, Amy.
If you want to clone the drives, here are two devices to clone the 2.5" drive and the M.2 NVMe SSD:
2.5' drive...a SATA to USB cable:
A USB 3/USB-C to NVMe enclosure:
I don't clone my drives so if you don't already have a cloning program you use, I recommend the 30-day Macrium Reflect trial software (it used to be free).
Don't install it until you are ready to clone.
For the NVMe SSD make sure you follow the instructions to clone a smaller drive to a larger one, or you will end up with a bunch of unallocated space.
Try downloading the manual from your notebook's support page.
