HP 15-db0007ca

The other day I was talking with a HP Guru and thought we had a problem solved but as you all know these little bugs tend to pop back up mine did yesterday. Not to get annoying, when I turned off the television the HP laptop now one-week old today would come back on. With my old Toshiba laptop all I did was to use the Window P and click on (second screen only) well that didn’t work on the HP system. I went through drivers, display settings the biggest thing I have noticed was the computer doesn’t recognize or in red (didn’t detect another monitor). But in second screen only mode it works well until we shut down the television then the laptop monitor pops on again. It is just an annoyance as we would let the computer run all the time instead of on/off, except when we all go to bed some technician said it is healthier for the computer doing it that way. So, being a very tenacious person, I stayed up the night and think I found the cure but due to lack of sleep I can’t remember the icon I clicked on in Radeon to create an AMD monitor driver down farther on the Device Manager with two second PNP monitors? So now it will allow me to switch between the two monitors it identifies and recognizes the second monitor and the screen on the laptop stays off when the television is turned off.  I’m just a rooky at this, I learned DOS in my twenties and did binary coding back than (40) years ago. It has always been just a hobby but what once took two minutes to create now takes hours. Sorry I’m rambling.

Maybe this will help some others with similar problems with their laptops or desktops.

Maybe someone can figure what I did I’m posting this and having some sleep.

@GuanYing

Welcome back!

I'm delighted to see the honorary title you've given me of the "HP GURU", I hope to live up to your expectations 😉

That said, it's most unfortunate the issue has reoccurred, and I suggest you go through these steps to resolve this issue:

Before you begin connecting additional monitors to your computer

Make sure the computer has at least two video connections: one for the main monitor, and one for the secondary monitor or TV. Many HP and Compaq computers come equipped with two video connections.

   NOTE:

If you must add a second video card to your computer to gain another video connection, make sure both video cards use the same Windows 10 or Windows 8 compliant (WDDM) driver. One way to make sure of this is to use the same video card model for both video connections.

Click here for the details.

Let me know how that pans out,
