Hello,
I’m interested in the HP 15-dy2058ca (https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/hp-15-6-laptop-natural-silver-intel-core-i7-1165g7-512gb-ssd-8g...).
One of the lines in its Details & Specs section reads “Expansion Slots: Memory slot not user accessible.”
I am wondering if, in spite of that, this model’s RAM can be upgraded (changed for higher capacity modules) – by an authorized service provider, for example. And if so, what is the maximum amount of RAM for HP 15-dy2058ca?
Here is the link to the product’s Maintenance and Service Guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06914467.pdf
Thank you,
AM

You're welcome.
Upgrading RAM and Drives in the notebook is an accepted practice and will not void warranty.
As long as you do not damage anything in the process.
Take care,
David

Hi,
Upgrading RAM and drives is an accepted practice.
The notebook will support max 64GB of DDR4 2666MHz RAM (2x32GB)
It comes with 1 8GB module, so quite easy to place a second one in the empty slot
as you can see on page 31 of service manual

Hi David,
Thanks a lot for the very helpful information. In your opinion, would HP void my warranty if I upgraded the installed RAM myself instead of having that done by an ASP?
Thank you in advance for your reply.
