Hey. Searched around for a while but found no answer so might as well ask here myself.

As far as I am aware this laptop's Type-C USB port does not support power delivery nor alt-mode/video. But since the laptop has no Ethernet port, could I get Ethernet connection via the USB C port with a hub/docking station?

Its specs

           https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c07918009

It has  1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does not support Power Delivery nor Alt Mode. I have not tried to use USB-C to connect to RJ45port but I'm using the following adapter and I've got 2 more USB 3.0 ports

Super-Speed 3-Port USB 3.0 Hub + Gigabit Ethernet Network Adapter

They have from 1 to 7 ports or more.

Regards.

Hello Banhien.

Thanks for the reply but that does not answer my question. I would like to find out if the Ethernet RJ45 port would work for this laptop before actually purchasing a USB C hub.

Thank you.

Sorry I did say above I have not tested that. I'm using few compatible docks for my machines and I can USB-C docks to connect to the RJ45 ports. I bought a very cheap dock on eBay to test and it works for all my machines (Dell, HP, Lenovo)
