HP 15-f272wm & HP Cloud Recovery Tool.

I have an older HP 15-f272wm laptop that Has a failing hard drive. I have a replacement and will be swaddling it out.

I downloaded and ran the HO Cloud Recovery Tool. On the HP laptop, and on a different computer. When I get to the point where I enter the product code, it tells me that it's invalid. It doesn't matter if I type the code in, or it reads it directly from the HP laptop. Everytime, it tells me it's invalid.

Does this model not have a recovery image on the Cloud Recovery Tool?

Your PC is not supported by the HP cloud recovery tool because it was made prior to 2016 and the cloud recovery tool only supports those PC's made in 2016 and later.

You have two options:

1. Clean install W10 for free by making a bootable W10 USB installation flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below.  Make the 64-bit installation media.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

2. If you want the original HP factory software image that came with the PC, the only place I know of that would have it is this vendor at the link below.  HP no longer sells recovery media for your notebook.
