Product: HP Notebook PC
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to upgrade from 4g to 8g RAM but not sure with the 800mhz speed, if it will improve loading and playing my games.

Model #           F9H92UA#ABA

currently has 4g DDR3 Ram SODIMM not sure if one or two slots (have got differing info) so will have to replace with 8g stick?

The specs of your machine is

It only has 1 slot of RAM with 4GB DDR3L SDRAM (1 DIMM) now. You can replace 4GB with the following 8GB compatible RAM

 

            https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr3/ct102464bf160b/ct6280903

 

You can buy Crucial RAM from many computer shops around the world.
