HP 15-p157sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All!

  1. I'm following the parts removal procedures for my HP 15921438643145724238675893082214.jpg15-p157sa according to the maintenance manual.
When i get to remove the drive bay screw it doesn't list what type of broadhead screw it is and so i don't know

the right tool I need to remove it.

Can anyone identify it and the type of screwdriver I should use?

Many thanks for your help!

Regards

Daaz

Hi all
So the actual solution, after some investigation, was to use a Phillips #000 for this screw - contrary to the manual stating that you'd only need a Phillips #0 and #1 for disassembly. With a little applied pressure, it came out easily after that.

Those are typically a small #1 or #0 Phillips screw. You need to ensure you have very positive engagement as last week a post here showed a user had totally stripped the screw top. Often applying slight tightening torque first before trying to loosen will help the screw remove more easily.

Thanks for the advice Repairatrooper!

The manual also indicated #0 or #1.  Unfortunately, it doesn't say which to use in this case.

I've tried both and also noticed the head wearing down quickly, which made me doubtful.

This seems to be a thing if it has happened to someone else.

Hopefully, before committing myself further, someone can say definitively which one i should

actually be using.
