I've been using HP 15-r006tu Notebook PC since end '22. While the laptop is good, but the battery life right from the first day has been pretty disappointing. This is the latest screen of the Battery Report.
It serial number is "Serial Number"!! How come? Did my retailer swap it with a local battery quietly?
Battery life with full charge is down by almost 22% from the manufactured capacity. I use utilities like battery limiter to retain my battery between 20%-80% most of the time and calibrate it once in 1-2 months with full discharge-full charge procedure as suggested by HP. This time is continues to show me "calibrate battery" even after 2 calibration attempts. Has be battery done with its life? Is the life only 1-2 years.
My 10-year-old Macbook Air bought in 2014 still gives more battery backup than this one.
And I have gone thru zillions of 'how to maintain/maximize your laptop battery pages' so don't really bother suggesting another one unless there's genuinely some relevant and new stuff in there.
My question is:
1. Does my laptop have fake battery?
2. Should I expect not more than this battery backup?
3. Is it time to replace with a new battery within just 1.5 years or so?
Thanks,
RJ
