I have a HP 15-r036tu - just want to know if 1600Mhz DDR3 RAM is compatible with the laptop.
The laptop has only 1 memory slot.
When I run CPU-Z utility it shows that the existing memory is of PC-12800 type.
Can I upgrade it from 4GB to 8GB (16000Mhz) ? or do I need to buy 1333Mhz RAM.

Hi,
The following link shows specs of your computer:
http://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04319064
It uses 2.58 GHz Intel Pentium N3530 with Intel HD Graphics which is a Bay Trail processor therfore all you've got a mchine chich has 1 slot: DDR3-1333MHz Dual Channel Support (DDR3L-1600 downgraded to DDR3-1333)(Bay Trail processors)
You can use 1600MHz RAM but it will automatically downgrade to 1333 MHz.
Regards.

Upgrade it with guaranteed compatible warranteed memory from a well known memory manufacturer or HP.
The upgrade memory should be 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM. PC-12800 is 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM. That is the specification
