Thanks for sharing the picture. In the picture you have shared, I see the battery is still charging.
Have you tried charging your laptop using a different adapter?
It looks like it's stuck at 68%, try updating the chipset drivers and Intel Management Engine Interface on the PC to the latest version and check if it helps.
Update the chipset drivers using this link. Click Here

hi @A4Apollo, thanks fo that suggestion. It worked for me partially. Now although my battery is charging itself upto 100%, but the problem is that is getting charge only when the system is shut down. And furthermore, the battery is getting discharged very early. I hope to get a reply soon with a help to fix it.

hi @A4Apollo,
I am disappointed to say that the freezing of battery charging still persists. Your method worked for me but for a day. Now it is againg at the same 68% and not increasing. I event went to the hp service centre, they advised me to reset the pc. I even tried that, but still didnot work for me. Please help me with a permanent fix. I hope to get a reply soon

I'm sorry to know the issue still persists.
But after a lot of research, I have found a service advisory related to the issue you have mentioned. Please try the steps recommended below to solve the issue.
Perform the following trouble shooting steps below before replacing the battery.
Check the BIOS (F.41 and later) to confirm the setting is set to Full Charge, if it is not, change the BIOS setting to Full Charge.
Power on the unit.
Press F10 to enter the BIOS.
Select the Power option.
Full Charge: The battery charge stops at 91~100%.
Extended Life of Battery Pack: The battery charge stops at 76~80%.
Optimize Life of Battery Pack: The battery charge stops at 46~50%.
Save changes and exit the BIOS.
If the above step does not fix the issue, upgrade the BIOS to version F.45 (SP85194).
Update the BIOS using this link. Click Here
Let me know if this works!

hi @A4Apollo,
I tried both of the softwares and yes, they worked for a while. But the problem still persists after a while now. And I am exteremly dissapointed to say this. I even tried going to hp care, but those dumb people didnt have any solution to this proplem except for resetting the pc. I even tried that. I really regret buying a hp laptop. I noticed that the bios version is f48 in my laptop. Could you please let me know the steps by which i can revert back to bios version f45? That shall be helpful i guess.
