Ok so this is probably going to sound so dumb so pls bear with me as I haven't had a windows in years. I bought the HP 12th Gen 15.6in i3 4GB 128GB laptop, and in all the ads on every website where its sold, there is a backlit keyboard symbol on the f5 key. I do a lot of working in lower light and having a backlit kb is really important for me. However I picked up the laptop today, got home and opened it and set it all up, and the f5 key is blank. And none of the other keys have the symbol. So idk if the advertising is incorrect, or this laptop doesn't actually have a backlit kb (which i would find really weird tbh bc the keys look like the should have an option to light up if that makes sense?

According to the HP product specs for the model, it does not come with a backlit keyboard or that feature would have been listed in the keyboard information.

You are correct.  If the F5 key has no light 'rays' above a keyboard icon, then your notebook definitely does not have a backlit keyboard.

That is usually an option offered in various models in the series but is not included in every 15-fq5xxx notebook.
