Hello! I have the Omen 16-k0000. I believe this laptop can support 64GB of RAM. It came with 16GB of DDR5 RAM and I bought 2x 32GB of DDR5 RAM. I installed them but the machine would not boot, instead the caps lock button blinks. Is it possible to install this RAM and get the computer to boot?

Welcome to our HP Community Forum!
You are indeed correct: your OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop 16-k0000, as per: https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_5972494_en-US-1.pdf, and: https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-omen-16-k0000, should be upgradeable up to 2 x 32GB of DDR5 PC5-38400, 4800 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, SODIMM, 262-pin RAM modules.
So, what exactly is/are the part number(s) of the 2 x 32GB RAM sticks you purchased?

Thanks for responding so quickly. This is the exact product I purchased:
https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr5/ct2k16g48c40s5/ct23459499
The 2x 32GB DDR5 4800.
Note that I successfully removed the original RAM, installed the new RAM, got blinking caps lock lights when I tried to turn it on.
I removed the new RAM, put the original RAM back in, and it turned on just fine...

Okay, firstly, I positively confirmed that 2 x 32GB works just outstandingly on your laptop:
This is for 2 x 32GB of Samsung DDR5 PC5-38400, 4800 MHz, Unbuffered, SODIMM Dual Rank (2Rx8 CL40 1.1v) RAM (p/n: M425R4GA3BB0-CQK).

Secondly, and to cut to the chase: you can do two things. Since you purchased admittedly high-end RAM, contact Crucial, and see if their techies can help you to make your RAM work. Personally, I would return this RAM, if you can, and go for the Samsung RAM which we know runs, and happens to run exceedingly well, on your laptop.

Thanks. I will chat with them tomorrow. Sadly it doesn't seem like Samsung makes 32GB DDR5 RAM sticks but only 16GB? A
Edit: Ah I see your screenshot, but where did you find that product?

Well, now, I was able to locate an HP 16-k0000 laptop fitted with exactly the same 2 x 32GB RAM (Crucial p/n: CT32G48C40S5.M16A1) : https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/57323187.
So, this changes things a little bit. Reinstall your working RAM, and make sure your laptop is updated with the latest Windows and HP updates -see: OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop 16-k0000 Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support.
Then follow all of the steps in the following YouTube link meticulously: (17) 🔧 How to Optimize Windows 10 For GAMING & Performance in 2019 The Ultimate Updated GUIDE - You....
[EDIT:] At time stamp 17:26, you'll have to enter eight (8) f's, not seven.
These steps also apply to W11 -no worries.
There are reasons for this, but in a nutshell (in addition to optimizing your laptop), we increase the chances to get your Crucial 2 x 32GB RAM fitted.

I have no idea how it worked but I got it to work. Here is what I did. First, I took out one of the HP RAM cards and put in one of the new ones. Made sure the laptop was plugged in before turning it on. It booted and I was able to confirm that both cards were working. Fully shut down and removed the second original RAM cards and put in the second new one. It booted fine. It's now reading 64GB of RAM. Happy it all worked out.
