Hi. I have an HP 17-CN0045NR. It has a 256GB hard drive and 1 slot with 4GB of RAM. I want to upgrade to a 500GB or 1TB SSD and an 8GB or 16GB RAM. I plan to clone the hard drive, I have a cloner. I just do not know if if that model will support what I want to do. Can someone please help me?
Thanks.

Hi, Rob:
I'd go with a Samsung 980 (not 980 Pro, which is PCIe Gen 4.0).
The make the drive in either capacity you want.
Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates that a memory slot supports an 8 GB memory chip.
The Intel specs indicate the max memory support is 8 GB.

I was looking around because I swear someone installed a 16 GB chip in a notebook with the same processor and reported it worked just fine, but I can't find the post.
