Hi,

i have an HP 17-CN31 and an HP 250 G10 853R7ES. At the moment i am searching for a dockingstation and therefore have some questions:

1. Can both laptops or one of the models be charged by the USB-C?

2. Which dockingstation can you recommend for both of them?

1. The specs of your HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c3000 (767L5AV)  is

             https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_7737425-7737469-16

It has a hopeless  USB 3.2 Gen 1.0 Type-C port; SuperSpeed 5 Gbps signaling rate (data transfer only; charging or external monitors not supported) port.

2. The specs of HP 250 G10 is

           https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/ish_7751519-7751693-16

It also has a hopeless SuperSpeed USB 3.2 Gen 1.0 Type-C port; 5 Gbps signaling rate (data transfer only; charging or external monitors not supported) port.

As you can see, they do NOT support charging using USB-C ports.

Regards.

Thanks for the information. I will mark your answer as solution, but want to clarify a few points before that.

I found these datasheets partly confusing - E.g. my HP 17-CN31 has 64GB RAM, while in the datasheet it is stated that the maximum memory is 16GB.

For my questions:

1. If i can not use the USB C for charging: Is it possible to use the USB A for charging or do i need to use external power adapter?

2. Do you have some suggestions for dockingstations which would be a good combination with my laptops?

I don't have datasheet with me but 16GB should be per-installed RAM, not Max

1. No, all USB-A ports on your machine do not accept chargers. They charge other devices such as phones, tablets, you have to use normal AC Adapters

2. In this case, probably USB-A docks docks are good for external monitors . For example
