17-ca1065cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a 17-ca1065cl laptop that I'm interested in installing a second hard drive in.

I plan on replacing the already existing traditional hard drive with an SSD and placing the traditional hard drive in the disk tray as a caddy.

I can't seem to find any vendors for this though.

I've been searching using the search terms: HP 17 laptop caddy, but common vendors don't show up with the caddy.

Where can I find such a caddy? Am I sing the correct search terms?

The specs of your machine is

    https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06447684

It supports DUAL storage with M.2 SATA SSD + 2.5" M.2 SATA SSD. You can simply add 1TB or 2TB of M.2 SATA SSD to your machine using Crucial MX500 or Samsung 860 EVO series .. For example

If you still prefer to us ODD bay you need a 9.0mm caddy  please try

         https://www.amazon.com.au/Zheino-Aluminum-Adapter-Universal-DVD-ROM/dp/B07PGNKYPX

         https://www.ebay.com/c/26023098311

Note: You need 9.0mm otherwise too thick, won't physically fit.

Regards.

Sounds great! I didn't know that the M.2 board could support 2 SSDs.

I decided to go with the optical drive caddy though.

Thank you!
