Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask about replacing the motherboard in the HP 17-ab424ng laptop. The previous board was flooded and I am looking for a replacement, I got to one, but the seller claims that I must have an eDP port with the LCD matrix that has 40 pins, otherwise the board will not fit. My laptop has a 30-pin eDP socket at the LCD matrix, and 40-pin at the motherboard. Can anyone confirm if this is what the seller is saying? Have you used different LCD matrices with different number of pins in the socket? I will add that the entire technical specification of the board is identical to my damaged laptop. I am asking for some help. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Regards

You need a RIGHT part # otherwise wasting your money. The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/hr-en/document/c06194911
You actually need a system board which has
- Motherboard,
- CPU Intel® Core™ i5-8300H (2.3 GHz base frequency, up to 4 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 8 MB cache, 4 cores),
- NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 (2 GB GDDR5 dedicated),
- Windows 10 Home 64 (you can NOT reuse old Windows).
All above components are on one piece of hardware called system board which is L23448-601 (for Discrete memory 1050 2 GB i5-8300H , Windows 10).
Regards.

Thank you for your answer, yes I know what is the specification of this board and I know that the components must be identical, I will put here a description of the offer I found on eBay:
So the motherboard I found won't fit my laptop? Even though its designation DAG37LMBAD1 Rev:D is identical to my motherboard?

Hello, thank you for your reply. I just want confirmation that the motherboard I found on Ebay is compatible with my laptop. The designation of the spare part shows that yes, because it is consistent with the one you gave me. I prefer to make sure, because the laptop was flooded, does not turn on, does not show signs of life, I decided to replace the entire motherboard because in this case it is the cheapest option. Here's what I found on Ebay:
By the way, I would like to ask what do you recommend to use under the heatsink, should I use thermal paste or thermo pads?
Thank you in advance for your answer.
