I wanted to replace the ssd in this HP laptop. I cannot find a list of compatible NMVE m.2 drives in the manuals for the unit. I bought a crucial PCIe 3.0- NvMe M.2 SSD. I installed it no problem. the UEFI sees the drive. However, the bootable USB that I made from the HP cloud recovery tool does not see the drive so I cannot reinstall Windows. I saw an older post that indicated the Intel Matrix driver needed to be extracted and installed before starting. The links from that were broken . Any help would be appreciated. If I have to send it back I will and buy another.

I'm surprised the cloud recovery tool didn't find the drive.
If the recovery tool media doesn't give you an option to install the storage controller driver, you can clean install W11 by installing the Intel storage controller drivers at the point where Windows can't find the drive.
Make a bootable USB installation flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below (2nd option).
I have zipped up and attached the Intel storage controller drivers your PC needs below.
Unzip and copy all of the files in the folder in the attachment to a USB flash drive.
Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.
Boot from the Windows installation flash drive.
When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
If Windows still can't find the drive, uncheck the box to include the compatible driver and try any of the ones listed.
Click Next, and Windows should install.

I think you are misunderstanding. The BIOS sees a drive. When I attempt to boot from the USB it loads and gets to a point where it just says Recovery Manager box with the message Application close [Info] No HDD. I downloaded the intel drivers and I had 7 zip installed already so I extracted the folders and files. Are you aware of the directory structure? There is the sp folder and 5 subfolders and several .exe files. There is not option to search for media. I will try your option as It just seems like I wasted a lot of time on HP cloud.
