I read a couple of times that upgrading my HP 2000 2b19wm laptop to SSD is not worth doing because of the weak processor (AMD 300, 1.3 Ghz). But that was a few years ago. I just picked up a 128GB HP SSD S700 pro for twenty dollars. At that price I'll have a go, using the new SSD as boot drive and existing HDD as external storage.
But in a reply to a 2016 post about the same thing, Huffler, while one of those advising the 'not worth it' above, also said that if the poster wanted to go ahead anyway, he should consider getting a larger SSD because the smaller size causes 'installation problems':
"... I would also encourage you to open the wallet a bit and get at least a 240 gig SSD. Smaller than that causes installation problems and most peopl"
This has brought me up short, not least because the only DIY thing I've EVER done on a computer is add RAM.
Additional searching, however, has not found a repeat of - or more specific information about - such installation problems. Can anyone elaborate and help me decide whether to go ahead or not; and how to, if possible, avoid or deal with said probems
Thanks much for any response

With 128GB, the main problem would be TOO small, you would fill it up in no time. But anyway, you can store your files/data on external drive and it is ok to use 128GB
Note: HP SSD S700 SSD's are all 2.5" standard format therefore your 128GB should physically fit.
Regards.
