- I hope you are well
- I have a doubt, in the HP 240 G7 model, which has only one memory slot, I can put a TEAMGROUP Elite DDR4 DIMM 16GB Single 3200MHz PC4-25600 CL22 Unbuffered Non-ECC 1.2V SODIMM 260-Pin Laptop, I know that the mother board supports up to 16 GB, but I do not know if it influences that all the work is carried by a single slot.
Would you recommend me to make the upgrade, it currently has only 4 GB of RAM.

Hello Dees12.
The original 2018 Manual for the 240 G7 informs us that the N4000 will have the memory run at 2400 speed, and that no modules larger than 8GB were offered for any of these systems. This 2019 Quickspecs document confirms that there is only one RAM slot for the Celerons.
An updated (2020) official HP Datasheet for the 240 G7 series shows that another Celeron was added to the product line, the N4020 Gemini Lake refresh which is very similar in specs to the original N4000 Gemini Lake you have.
I can't find an instance of anyone upgrading the single-slot 240 G7 N4000 system with anything above 8GB. However, the 240 G7 N4020 refresh seems to have been sold with both 16GB (Amazon) and 32GB (Walmart) modules installed.
Notice how very specific HP branded RAM modules are mentioned as the reason for the successful upgrades. I think that there's a reason for this, and that is that the techs upgrading these systems had a difficult time finding compatible memory. If you manage to find the 16GB module, this upgrade might be worth a shot.....

From page 1 of its manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06166181.pdf
the series has
Two memory module slots
Memory is non-customer accessible/non-upgradeable
DDR4-2400 dual channel support (DDR4-2666 bridge to DDR4-2400) (8550U/8250U processors)
DDR4-2133 dual channel support (DDR4-2666 bridge to DDR4-2400, DDR4 2400 downgrade to DDR4-2133) (7020U processor)
Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM in the following configurations:
- 16384 MB (8192 MB×2)
- 12288 MB (8192 MB×1 + 4096 MB×1)
- 8192 MB (8192 MB×1 or 4096 MB×2)
- 4096 MB (4096 MB×1)
Does your machine uses Gen 7 or Gen 8 CPU ? You can use the following RAM

Hello, the CPU is a Celeron N4000, the customer is asking me for 16 GB of RAM, but the computer only has one slot, so to speak the maximum we can put are 8 GB, I thought we could put 16 GB in a single DIMM, I attach a video to see what I mean when I say that only has a Slot

You can NOT use 3200MHz RAM, may not work or ONLY runs at 2133MHz
Regards.
