Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

HP 240 G8 has issues, and HP is not giving any feedback. This laptop has fan issue, internal battery (CMOS) issues. HP service has degraded many folds. I own 3 HP Laptops.

This is a peer to peer forum.

 

We do not work for or represent HP.

 

Your notebook does not have a CMOS/RTC battery.

 

The main battery also serves as the CMOS battery to maintain the BIOS and system clock settings.

 

Below is the link to the service manual.

 

Maintenance and Service Guide

 

Chapter 3 has the list of parts.

 

You will find no CMOS/RTC battery part number.

 

Chapter 5 has the component removal and replacement procedures.

 

You will not find a procedure to remove or replace the CMOS battery.

 

You may have to replace the fan and internal battery and the part numbers for those items are listed in chapter 3.
