Hi,

I have had this laptop since December 2017 and have always handled the laptop very carefully - the laptop/hinge has not been used excessively. Unfortunately today I have found the hinge to have broken. The screen bezel wants to come away from the screen when opening the lid.

From what I have read, this appears to be a common issue and potentially a design flaw. Can you please advise how I should proceed?

Kind regards

Mark

I have 2 of these laptop both the hinges have broken. Hp repaired one in warranty even though I was accused of dropping it after sending images to prove otherwise. The second has gone and I was told its in warranty due to previous repairs to main board and keyboard. They are now saying its chargeable.

As the rear cover needs replacing too as the threads has come away broken little mounts the the hinge connects to.

Never had a problem with acer, asus or Toshiba just hp laptops in my 30 years of laptop repair experience. Designed to break to make more money.
